St John's Anglican Church, Sylvania

The McNeill family have now begun at St John’s Anglican Church, Sylvania. Whilst I continue my full time role at Anglican Youthworks, this ‘Shire’ church is the new home for me and my family on Sundays.

Paul Sampson, Rector of Sylvania, put me to good work straight away–two sermons back to back on the book of Acts.

The McNeills are Moving House!

Our new house at Mortdale

Just when we got comfortable, it’s time to uproot! On Tuesday the 13th of April we are moving to an almost brand new duplex in Mortdale.

Our new address will be 11a Broughton Street, Mortdale 2223. We have been advised that we can expect to keep our same home phone number.

Jemimah and Liana modelling their fairy outfits at the party.

Despite projected temperatures in the high 30s, Jemimah’s party was a success. Her twelve friends from church and school had a great time eating, playing and swimming in the new inflatable pool.

Fortunately an early southerly wind change dropped the temperature from the mid 30′s to a much more respectable 25C.

The party had a ‘dress up’ theme, yet the majority of guests predictably wore pink fairy outfits. The games included favourites such as the egg and spoon race, pass the parcel, Mintie hunt, and pin the tail on the horse.

This was followed by an informal splash in the new pool, kindly purchased at short notice by my mum, and lovingly inflated by the adults present.

Jemimah Starts School

It was almost impossible to keep the smile off Jemimah’s face as she prepared for her first day of school. She excitedly dressed herself in her new uniform, and headed off with her sister to begin her thirteen years of school education.

This is not the first year for Jemimah at Danebank School. She attended the Prep school last year for two days a week. But finally she will be able to satisfy the desire for learning that two days a week could never fill.

Liana’s 6th Birthday Party a Hit!

Liana and her friends enjoying the Birthday Party.

Today Liana and twelve of her friends had a great time together celebrating her sixth birthday.

After a great meal of pizza and garlic bread, the group played lots of games including an egg and spoon race, a three-legged race, pass the parcel, treasure hunt and the chocolate game.

The highlights for Liana were the games and the presents, as well as the tasty food. Her funniest moment was chocolate game: “We had to dress up with a tutu and a crown and throw the dice and try to make it six, then try to eat chocolate with a knife and fork!”

Liana officially turns six on the 15th of January.
