St John's Anglican Church, Sylvania

The McNeill family have now begun at St John’s Anglican Church, Sylvania. Whilst I continue my full time role at Anglican Youthworks, this ‘Shire’ church is the new home for me and my family on Sundays.

Paul Sampson, Rector of Sylvania, put me to good work straight away–two sermons back to back on the book of Acts.

A youth group joins Jodie on stage during Kyckstart 2005.

Kyckstart 2005 has raised the standard in evangelical youth conferences. With a combined attendance of over 4000 teenagers, the two weekends provided youth of NSW and the ACT with a great weekend of Bible teaching, music, and fellowship in the gospel of Christ.

The theme ‘The Christ Factor’ expressed the main thrust of Philippians, the focus of the six talks.

My role over the two weekends was to coordinate the sessions, especially the two evening events. I also MC’d the Saturday night session.

Capacity crowd at Youth Surge South at Kingsgrove

Youth Surge continues to grow in its impact and importance in Australian youth ministry. Recent Surges throughout Australia have shown how valuable these youth nights continue to be for youth leaders and youth students alike.

The nights provide a great night out for the teenagers. Terrific Bible teaching, singing, mixer games, multimedia, interactivity… and more.

This year we started a new Surge in Sydney’s South. Now youth groups can choose the City Surge (in the Cathedral Chapter House) or the South Surge (in the St George Region… next term at Mortdale Anglican). These two Surges are in addition to the many other nights around Sydney and Australia.

My role is to help plan the meetings, as well as be the MC of the City and South Surges. We had a total of over 400 to the two events I was directly involved with.
